Unknown to me at the time, and seemingly the headline for all reviews of this concert, is that Chino the band’s lead singer did this gig with a broken Metatarsal. Even more impressive is that unless you didn’t find this out, you probably would have been none the wiser.
Deftones put on another exhilarating 1 hour 30 minutes set consisting of 21 tracks. Only the 2nd time I have seem them live and both occasions have been superb. Missing the first two tracks due to being stuck 6 deep at the bar, and missing My Own Summer (Shove It) was a bit of a kick in the nuts. In support of the latest album Gore, obviously there’s a fair few tracks from the new album, but they also didn’t disappoint with a number of hits from their ‘nu-metal’ era and plenty of tracks from the previous 3 albums, which in my opinion are probably their finest albums. Of course the band didn’t disappoint with a fair number of fan favourites also.
Below some pictures from myself stuck in the stands, and some videos I’ve picked up from YouTube, as well as the full set list.
